In 2023, the City of Boston Equity and Inclusion Cabinet reserved 12 Boston Marathon bibs from the Mayor’s Office and reached out to 7 community running organizations to nominate runners that represent Boston’s diverse city. Trans Resistance is honored to be included on this list and to feature a runner in the 127th Boston Marathon on April 17, 2023.
One of our board members will be taking to the starting line and running 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston to raise awareness about Trans Resistance MA and the importance of transgender inclusion in competitive sports. We hope to raise $13,000–approximately $500 per mile–to help cover the costs of the 2023 Trans Resistance March and Festival. Specifically, we hope the marathon effort will cover the cost of the mobile stage, which typically costs anywhere from $13-18k for the day.
