Transgender Day of Remembrance 2023
Trans Resistance MA gathers in partnership with Transgender Emergency Fund of MA, the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition, The Network/La Red, the Office of the Mayor for LGBT Affairs, Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, and the Equity Fund of the Boston Foundation to honor TDOR.

About the event
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of Rita Hester, a pioneering transgender woman and advocate from Allston. Her life not only mattered but inspired a local and international movement and day of mourning for the transgender people we have lost in our community. Join Trans Resistance MA, Maassacshuetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC), Transgender Emergency Fund (TEF), The Network/La Red, the Office of the Mayor for LGBTQ Affairs, and the Equity Fund of the Boston Foundation for this year's TDOR.
The event will include speeches by local activists, performances, and time to gather in community and share a meal.
This event will have ASL interpreters and mental health counselors for support.
Donations collected at the event will go to the Transgender Emergency Fund of MA and Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program, as we believe basic needs are the first way to support trans people in Boston.
